About this role
We are looking for an ELA tutor Intern that has the skills of teaching basic grade level English, including grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing and critical thinking. Working with students to help them understand key concepts. Implements monthly assessments to analyze students’ progression, strengths, and weaknesses. The successful candidate will be able to cater one-on-one or small group lessons that cater to the needs and goals of their students
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized instruction to middle and high school students in English Language Arts.
- Create engaging lesson plans tailored to students' individual needs and learning styles.
- Assist students with literature analysis, writing assignments, grammar exercises, and vocabulary expansion.
- Encourage critical thinking and analytical skills development through guided discussions and activities.
- Offer constructive feedback to help students improve their writing and comprehension skills.
- Track student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary to ensure academic growth.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to address concerns and celebrate achievements.
Skills and requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Previous tutoring, teaching, or relevant educational experience preferred.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Passion for education and helping students succeed.
- Reliability and professionalism in fulfilling tutoring commitments.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and comply with any relevant regulations.
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate students' availability.
